Ensure consistency with a brand guidelines style guide
We develop brand guidelines for businesses with an existing logo and website, who need stronger control of how their visual identity is used by employees, stakeholders and external partners across all touchpoints.

How it works

1. We review your website and existing branding

2. We build a set of bespoke brand guidelines

3. You review and feedback
until agreed signoff

4. Everyone who works with your brand are now aligned

Things can get messy quickly without brand guidelines!
Once a business or organisation grows and multiple people need to work with the brand visual identity, without a set of brand guidelines, things can get messy very quickly.
Staff unintentionally use multiple fonts and colours across presentations, social media posts and documents. There’s no cohesive visual style for photography and iconography. The logo can get misused and there’s no hierarchy of typography style. And even worse, when differing external partners have to develop marketing elements, they each put their own spin on your brand.
All this leads to a very confused and unaligned visual brand identity, which simply confuses your audience, makes you look unprofessional and reduces your brand recognition.

Consistency, consistency, consistency
Big brands understand that one of the key elements in their audience remembering them is having a strong and consistent brand identity system.
They ensure that no matter the output, everyone who has to work with the brands visual identity, have the information and direction to ensure consistency every time, without exception.
Only through the development of a set of bespoke brand guidelines, can this consistency be delivered.

Built on solid experience
The Brand Guidelines Lab has been setup by professional designer Jeff Lewis from Space on White, who has been developing brand identity systems for over 15 years.
Jeff understands exactly how big brands keep their visual identity under control having worked on designs for companies such as Google, Unilever, Samsung, Adobe, and Ford whilst also being part of the team who developed the brand guidelines of Coca-Cola’s European arm of Coke Freestyle.
Combined with Jeff’s experience of designing and developing many start-up brands, he has the experience and insights to develop comprehensive brand guidelines for every size of business and organisation.

Brand Guidelines bespoke to you
We will work with you to understand how your brand is currently used, to explore what level of guidelines would best suite your business or organisation.
Our basic brand guidelines provide guidance on logo usage, font hierarchy and settings, along with colour values for print and digital use.
Our standard brand guidelines will suit most small-medium sized operations and we offer an additional design service where the brand would benefit from some design input to ensure the branding is more distinctive and/or social media background templates are required.
For those who require an advanced level of control over the use of the visual identity system, identity guidelines can run to 100+ pages. We work with you to understand and provided the right level of guidance appropriate to who and how the branding is used.
